Hey dolls!
Since giving birth to my little boy, I've had the same question running through my mind as many of you mamas also have, 'When can I get my tweakments done again?'!
It's been a long nine months waiting for our babies to arrive, and honey, our bodies have gone through CHANGE. Whether it's fillers, polynucleotides, some anti-wrinkle injections, or even just a refreshing facial, we need a little pick-me-up, and choosing what's right and safe can be tricky to navigate. It’s not just about looking good but feeling like yourself again while staying safe and mindful of postpartum recovery.
When Can I Get Botox and Fillers?
Botox and dermal fillers are some of the most popular treatments for reducing fine lines and restoring volume, but it’s generally recommended to wait at least 6 weeks after giving birth. Why? During this time, your hormone levels are still stabilising; if you're breastfeeding, there are additional considerations. Although Botox is thought to be safe during lactation, there isn't enough research to confirm its safety, so many practitioners suggest waiting just to be cautious.
What About Polynucleotides?
Polynucleotides, which are brilliant for collagen production and skin regeneration, are relatively safe and can be considered around 4-6 weeks postpartum. They are great for post-pregnancy skin rejuvenation, especially if your skin feels dehydrated or lacklustre after those long nights with the baby! Just make sure you’ve given your skin some time to adjust before starting this treatment.
Facials & Peels
Now, let’s talk about the gentler treatments. Hydrating facials can actually be done as soon as you feel ready to relax - sometimes even just a few weeks after giving birth. These are perfect for restoring your glow and giving your skin some much-needed TLC. But if you're thinking of more intense treatments like chemical peels, it’s best to wait around 3-6 weeks. Your skin can be a bit more sensitive post-pregnancy, so a little extra caution is needed to avoid irritation.
